New sims are live!

Dozens of new animations and simulations are live, a major V2.0 update to the whole site is underway, and your feedback is welcome.

The issue

Hi there!

First off, a quick thank you for subscribing, and an extra special thank you to those of you who have generously donated to keep the resources coming - it is all greatly appreciated!

Last night, I pushed out dozens of new animations and simulations that I have had in draft form for a little while now. Many still require some polish, but I figured I would share them out as is for now. You can see some examples below.

I have also begun work on a major V2.0 update for the whole site with the goal being to provide teachers and students with the highest quality, most visually compelling learning resources for Earth and Space sciences.

That in mind, I would love your feedback and input - what simulations and videos are missing, what features would you love to see, etc.. Anything you would like to share would be appreciated.

Thanks again, have an amazing day!

-Mike

Some of the new releases

  • Isostasy: Float blocks in a tank and crust on the mantle, then watch the land rebound after an ice age and mountains rise as they wear down.
  • Wind and Dunes: Turn on the wind and watch sand move: how dunes form and migrate, the dune types, cross-bedding, desert pavement and coastal dunes.
  • Faults and Folds: Push, pull and shear layered rock in 3D and watch it break into faults or bend into folds, with earthquakes as the faults slip.
